Halloween Eye Sensory Bin

Eye balls are a very typical Halloween manipulative and I get it. They are so fun!! Googly or the round ping pong style eyes are tons of fun. This year I set the kids up with a fun and engaging sensory bin for all three kids!! Huge win there. Usually I can make a bin appropriate for two kids but three is a home run.

Halloween Reads with Usborne Books

Halloween is my favorite time of the year. I love it all. The costumes, the activities, the goofiness and the stories!! AHHH! I just love it.

This year my kids were extra spoiled. I bought us a ton of new Usborne Books just for the season. Let me tell you they did not disappoint either. My kids went crazy for the monster stories and the activties/games that we bought. We didn’t get into any spooky stories but we will in a couple more years. If you kids are  little like mine there are plenty of fun Halloween books and for the older kids there are amazing classics for them to enjoy. I can’t wait til we are at the stage. Just a couple more years until we will be diving into more Halloween stories.

How to Make the Perfect Witch Potion

When I was in Grade 11 my english teacher had us memorize the “Three Witches Chant” from Macbeth. For some unknown reason I still remember the majority of it 10+ years later. Do I remember anything else? Not really…. at least I have Macbeth to get me through life.

Halloween would not be complete without making your own witches brew or potion!

What I really love about making your own potions is that you can make it as simple or as complicated as you want. Use your imagination and see what you and your kids can come up with. There are so many options that can be easily adapted to make this activity engaging with whatever age your kids are.

Unreal Halloween Treats Review

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year I absolutely adore it. The fun, tricks and obviously the CANDY!!

I know, I know. Trick or treating is for kids but lets be real I eat my fair share and buy extra candy to give out. It would be a shame to run out so I really do my best to have a full stash for the kids.

Have you ever read the ingredient lists on regular brand name candy? For a long time I had no idea what was added to a variety of food.

Recently it was discovered that one of my nephews is allergic to red food dye. Since then I have been extra diligent with reading labels. Did you know basically everything has red food coloring? I did not. Seriously I found red dye in a package of noodles. You really have to watch carefully. My eyes have been open now and it makes me quite uneasy.

With Unreal Candy I didn’t have to worry about dye because they are colored with vegetables. Yeah!! That’s right. Natural food coloring. That is something I can get behind. Seriously, look at the gorgeous colors of Unreal’s Candy when compared to Smarties.

Does your family have other dietary needs? Maybe you are trying to fill your body with the best food but you still have a sweet tooth. Guys, Unreal is for you!

Our Family Halloween 2016

When I was in College I got a job at our local Value Village. It was the perfect job for a student. It was close to my house and I was able to get great clothes for an awesome deal. The position that I started at was a Costumologist!!

What is a Costumologist, you ask? Why, its the greatest thing ever. For two months I was able to dress up daily and help people assemble fabulous costumes. Many people like purchasing costumes ready to go which is fine but I love the challenge of creating costumes. I love hunting for the perfect pieces to create a one of a kind costume. Its a blast and saves quite a bit of cash.

Over the years I have come up with some pretty great costumes and I wish I would have taken pictures of all of my fun creations.

Since I have been married we have always dressed up together and now we involve our kids. It can be quite a challenge to come up with a family costume but it is completely worth it. I’m not sure how long my kids will cooperate with our Halloween fun. I hope it lasts forever but I know our time is ticking so we have to make the most of it every year.

Both my husband and I love Disney so our costumes generally are Disney movie themed. This year we choose the classic tale of “Peter Pan.” We dressed the kids as Captain Hook, Tinkerbell and Smee. Obviously we had to go as Peter Pan and Wendy.

STEAM Kids Halloween Crystals

My son has developed a love my spiders. I love that I do not share at all. I am not terrified of them but I cringe every time I spot one. Even spiders in books give me the creeps. Just writing this has given me goosebumps. I hate spiders….

I want to be the Mum that follows my kids interests but I honestly didn’t know how I was going to follow Bee this time.

That was until I found my answer in the Halloween STEAM Edition  Ebook.
